Philosophy of African Liberation

Just as doctors diagnose patients to identify the disease causing their illness in order to prescribe right treatment, philosophers diagnose a society to identify the ideas (or ideologies) influencing its condition in order to inject the right ideas (or ideologies) for growth and harmony. These ideas are then organized to become the laws, institutions and programs to influence people’s thoughts, feelings and actions in a society. And without identifying and guiding the basic ideas (or ideologies) that influence its people, a society will continually fail to improve its condition.

Seeing the level of socio-industrial progress that philosophy brought to the Western world, it is now necessary to re-diagnose the ideas (ideologies) that currently influence Africa in order to provide alternative ideas (or ideological framework) to liberate Africa. For despite the presence of philosophy departments in their universities, most African countries are yet to create suitable ideologies and programs for freedom and prosperity. Instead, their efforts to fit into foreign ideologies without stressing the basic difference between their situations have kept them confused and stagnant.

This book identifies the colonial ideology of favourite slaves as the foundation upon which the tripod stand of bondage was established to exploit and stagnate Africa. Then, it promotes a new ideology of intercultural liberty for establishing the tripod stand of freedom for growth and harmony in Africa.
